I am currently on a deployment (not military) to a middle eastern country for 6 months. I am supposed to be working out of my client’s office with a company provided hotel accommodation (it’s an apartment accommodation in hotel)

2 weeks into the assignment I had already gelled up with almost every one I work with and kind of started to feel homesick as well (mostly missing the authentic Indian food). Everytime during the lunch I would directly or indirectly praise Indian food.

There’s this girl in the client office that is from a third party vendor team and also working on the same project. She’s from a south east asian country bare 5 feet tall and a bit chubby on all the right places. She would always for some reason defend Arabic food whenever I mentioned Indian food.

One day after lunch she asked me to join her for a food walk as she wanted to show me how good it actually is, and since I didn’t have any plans for the evening I agreed.

We went out in the evening had some good food like Shwarma, Shish Tawook, Majboos etc. we were having fun time but what I was also noticing was she’s being a little extra chirpy, holding me by my arms, playing with her hair etc and mind you that this girl was south east asian and a devout muslim and I have a huge thing for both. So I decided to make my move, towards the end of the evening she asked me if I am still hungry and sensing the opportunity I replied with If I was not a gentleman I would have said yes (for you). Hearing this she blushed so hard and couldn’t stop giggling.

Well nothing much happened after that and I came back after dropping her off at her hotel. As soon as I got off the cab, I received a text from her that read “I really enjoyed our time together today, it was such a lovely evening. The time went too fast, I wanted to show you other places as well. Maybe next time, when you are not trying to be a gentleman (with a wink emoji)

Today is that next time, I am dressed up waiting for her text to go pick her up. Wish me luck guys!
